How to use CareerPilot with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet
Windows setup checklist for CareerPilot during live Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet interviews: install, layout, screen share, and coding rounds.
Most remote interviews still happen on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet. CareerPilot is a native Windows desktop app designed to sit beside those clients as a private overlay while you speak in your own words.
This guide is a practical checklist. It does not change the product UI; it explains a reliable setup order.
Before any platform
- Create an account at Register and confirm your plan on Pricing.
- Install CareerPilot-Setup.exe on the Windows PC you will use for the interview.
- Sign in with the same email, upload your resume, and complete one mock session so device licensing is already activated.
- Close unnecessary overlays and notifications. Keep CareerPilot and your meeting client as the main windows you will manage.
Zoom (desktop client)
Enterprise loops often require the Zoom desktop app, not only the browser.
- Join the meeting in the Zoom Windows client.
- Start CareerPilot and place the overlay where you can read it without turning away from the camera awkwardly.
- When you share screen, share a specific window (IDE, slides, browser) when possible instead of the entire desktop, unless the interviewer requires full desktop share.
- If you must share the full desktop, test your share preview in a private meeting first so you understand what the interviewer sees.
Microsoft Teams
- Use the Teams desktop app on Windows when the organization requires it.
- Join the call, then bring CareerPilot to the side or second monitor if you have one.
- For screen share, prefer sharing the application window under discussion (code editor, document) rather than every open window.
- Teams layouts and together modes vary by tenant — always do a 2-minute test call with a friend or second account when the stakes are high.
Google Meet
- Meet is often browser-based. CareerPilot still runs as a desktop overlay on Windows beside Chrome or Edge.
- Pin the meeting tab, hide unrelated tabs, and keep the CareerPilot window outside the shared surface when you present.
- If you present tabs or windows, use Meet’s present-a-tab / present-a-window options and confirm the preview.
Coding interviews on the same day
Many loops move from behavioral video into HackerRank, CodeSignal, CoderPad, or a shared editor. Keep CareerPilot running, switch focus to the coding window, and use suggestions as comments or structure — type and explain in your own words. Ethical use on live calls

Quick troubleshooting
- App will not activate — Check the dashboard license, device limit, and 30-day removal lock in the licensing article.
- Audio — CareerPilot needs a working microphone path; grant Windows permission if prompted.
- Layout — A second monitor simplifies keeping notes private while sharing a single window on the primary display.
