Terms and conditions

Last updated 22 August 2026. These terms govern the CareerPilot website, Windows application, and licenses, and form a binding agreement between you and us.

1. Agreement to these terms

By creating an account, paying for a plan, or installing the app, you agree to these terms, our Privacy policy, and our Refund policy, all of which are incorporated here by reference. If you don't agree, don't use the website or app. If you're using CareerPilot on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you meet this age requirement. Accounts may not be created using false identities or on behalf of someone else without authorization.

3. The service

CareerPilot provides AI-assisted suggestions during interviews and coding screens, delivered through a Windows desktop application and supported by a website and licensing API. Output is generated by AI models and can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You remain solely responsible for what you say, submit, or represent to any employer, recruiter, or platform. We do not guarantee job offers, interview scores, specific outcomes, or that the overlay will be undetectable in every environment, on every platform, or against every future detection method.

4. Accounts and devices

Keep your account key and credentials confidential; you're responsible for activity under your account. Each plan caps the number of concurrent devices allowed. Revoking a device from your dashboard blocks that device immediately; once a device is registered, removing it may be locked for 30 days before it can be replaced with a new one, to prevent abuse of device limits. Sharing an account, account key, or license to exceed your plan's device limit, or to give access to someone who hasn't agreed to these terms, is a breach of this agreement and may result in suspension.

5. Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed on the cycle shown at checkout (for example, monthly or annually). Unless otherwise stated on the pricing page, subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price at the start of each new billing cycle until cancelled. You can cancel future renewals at any time from your dashboard or by emailing support@careerpilot.co.in; cancellation stops future charges from the next billing cycle onward. All fees are non-refundable. Once a charge is processed, no refund, credit, or partial refund will be issued for that billing period, regardless of how much of it you used, except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right to one — see our Refund policy for details. We may change plan pricing or features going forward; where required, we'll give reasonable notice before a price change takes effect on your next renewal.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Attack, probe, or attempt to circumvent our systems, licensing checks, or security controls.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to access dashboards, accounts, or data that aren't yours.
  • Resell, sublicense, or transfer your license to a third party without our written consent.
  • Use automated means to create accounts or abuse trial offers.
  • Use the product in any environment, exam, or interview where doing so is prohibited by an employer's policy, an exam board's rules, a platform's terms, or applicable law.
  • Use the product to violate academic integrity policies, professional licensing exam rules, or any other integrity requirement that applies to you.
  • Upload content you don't have the right to share, or content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful to others.

You are responsible for understanding and complying with the interview, academic, and professional integrity rules that apply to your own situation — we can't advise you on whether a specific employer or institution permits AI assistance, and using CareerPilot where it's prohibited is entirely at your own risk.

7. Fees, taxes, and payment

Prices appear on the pricing page and at checkout in the currency shown there. Payments are processed by Cashfree; we do not store your full card or bank details. Applicable taxes (such as GST or VAT) may be added at checkout depending on your location. If a payment fails or is charged back, we may suspend or restrict your license until the balance is resolved. You're responsible for keeping your payment method up to date to avoid interruption.

8. Free trials and promotional offers

Where offered, free trials and promotional plans are subject to the terms shown at signup and may be limited to one per person or household. We may end, modify, or restrict promotional offers at any time without notice, and may require valid payment details to start a trial to prevent abuse.

9. Intellectual property

The CareerPilot app, website, branding, logos, and underlying software remain our property (or that of our licensors). Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of that intellectual property to you. You keep all rights to your resume, job descriptions, and other content you upload or submit. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely to provide the service to you — for example, to generate in-session suggestions. We don't use your resume or session content to train shared models available to other customers.

10. Feedback

If you send us suggestions, feature requests, or other feedback, you agree we may use it to improve CareerPilot without any obligation to compensate you or keep it confidential, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

11. Third-party services

The service relies on third-party providers, including Cashfree for payments and, where enabled, OpenAI for AI processing and the website chat assistant. Your use of those integrations is also subject to the relevant third party's own terms, and we aren't responsible for outages, errors, or changes on their end that affect CareerPilot.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated suggestions will be accurate, appropriate, or undetectable in any specific circumstance.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of employment or interview outcomes, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third party's rights or any applicable law or policy governing your use of CareerPilot in an interview, exam, or professional context.

15. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse the service, or fail to pay applicable fees, with or without notice depending on severity. You may stop using the service and request account closure at any time by emailing support@careerpilot.co.in. On termination, your license to use the app ends, though sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification) will continue to apply.

16. Changes to the service or these terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the service, and may revise these terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes we'll make reasonable efforts to notify active account holders. Continued use of CareerPilot after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.

17. Force majeure

We won't be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including outages at hosting or payment providers, internet disruptions, natural disasters, or other events of force majeure.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts located in Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local jurisdiction instead.

19. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy policy and Refund policy, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.

20. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided the assignee agrees to honor these terms.

21. Notices

We may send notices related to your account or these terms to the email address on file. It's your responsibility to keep that address up to date so you don't miss important notices, including those about security, billing, or policy changes.

22. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@careerpilot.co.in.
